The Third Wheel You Didn't Know You Needed

It Starts with Paying Attention

If you’ve ever worked with me, you know I’m not just there to take a few posed photos and call it a day. I’m there to really be part of it - to blend in, pay attention, and catch the moments you didn’t even realize you’d want to remember.

These are the moments that matter. And the ones I’m always watching for.

Someone once called me a professional third wheel.
I took it as a compliment.

I slide into your world for a few hours - quiet when I need to be, right in it when I should be - and just watch. That’s how the best photos happen.

I’m the one you forget is there until you see the photos later and wonder, “How did she catch that?” That’s when I know I’ve done my job. When you’re relaxed and just being, the really good stuff shows up: the authentic smiles, the glances, the in-between moments that say way more than a pose ever could.

I notice the little things - the way your son keeps sneaking glances at his grandpa during the blessings, or the way your mom quietly wipes a tear while everyone else is dancing. Those are the moments you can’t pose for. And those are the moments I’m always chasing.

Why I Stay for the Whole Celebration

As a bar and bat mitzvah photographer in Chicago, I’ve learned that the most meaningful images often happen well after the official photos are done.

That’s also why I always try to photograph the whole celebration - not just the first hour or two. Like any good story, a party has a rhythm.

There’s the early buzz, the settling-in, and then, usually a couple hours in, that moment when people finally let go. The shoes are off, the dance floor is full, and no one’s thinking about the camera anymore.

That’s when some of the best moments happen. And I hate to leave before they do.

Telling the Story Without Interrupting It

You won’t see me in your pictures - but you’ll feel that I was there.

At the end of the day, I’m part guest, part fly on the wall, and yes - part photographer with a deadline. But mostly I’m someone who cares deeply about telling your story honestly, without interrupting it.

You experienced these memories. I make sure you get to keep them.  Thanks for letting me be the third wheel you never knew you needed.
